Peran Media Ekosistem Lokal Berbasis Kearifan Lokal dalam Penguatan Pendidikan IPS di Sekolah Dasar
Abstract
Social Studies (IPS) education in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students' understanding of the social and natural environment. Strengthening social studies education can be achieved through the use of relevant and contextual learning media, one of which is local ecosystem media based on local wisdom. This literature review aims to analyze the role of local ecosystem media based on local wisdom in supporting the strengthening of social studies learning at the elementary school level. By reviewing various recent research and theories, this study found that local ecosystem-based media can increase student engagement, facilitate understanding of social studies concepts, and instill cultural and environmental values sustainably. This media also supports an active, contextual, and multidisciplinary learning approach. Furthermore, utilizing local wisdom in local ecosystem media can strengthen students' cultural identity and environmental love. This study recommends the implementation of local ecosystem-based media with a local wisdom approach as an effective strategy for strengthening social studies education in elementary schools, along with the need for teacher training to optimally utilize such media.
