Community Development Pertambangan Nikel Di Desa Watudemba Kecamatan Palangga Kabupaten Konawe Selatan
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of the village head in managing the Community Development (Comdev) program implemented by the mining company PT. Jagad Rayatama in Watudemba Village, Palangga District, South Konawe Regency. Community Development is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative designed to enhance the welfare of communities in mining-affected areas. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the village head plays a strategic role as an intermediary between the community and the company by formulating priority programs, conveying local aspirations, and overseeing the implementation of development and empowerment activities. Active involvement of the village head and community participation are crucial factors in the success of Comdev initiatives, which include infrastructure development and socio-economic empowerment. These results highlight the importance of synergy between local government and corporations in achieving sustainable development in mining-adjacent regions
