Abstract

This study aims (1) to find out what obstacles are encountered in the crime scene investigation process (TKP). (2) to find out the efforts that have been made in the investigation of the function of processing the crime scene (TKP) in the investigation process, this study In carrying out the research process, the author conducted research at the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police office. Determining the focus of the research is a very decisive stage in qualitative research, because in qualitative research it does not start from something empty or without problems, both problems that come from the author's experience or through scientific literature (moleong, 2004:92). So the focus in qualitative research is actually the problem itself. The results of the study include (1) The crime scene is a place where a criminal event occurs which is found to be important and helpful for further investigation, and is related to the evidence found. Handling the crime scene is the initial stage of the investigation, JUKNIS of the Republic of Indonesia Police with the number JUKNIS 01/II/1982. The process of implementing the crime scene investigation begins with the preparation of handling the crime scene, traveling to the crime scene, first actions at the crime scene (TPTKP), crime scene investigation consisting of general observation, photography, making sketches, collecting evidence, handling victims, witnesses, and perpetrators, organizing the crime scene investigation, and the end of crime scene investigation consisting of consolidation, opening/freeing the crime scene, making a report of the examination at the crime scene, and evacuation of activities. (2) The obstacles faced by investigators in carrying out the crime scene investigation are divided into two parts, namely obstacles from outside the police and obstacles from within the police themselves. Obstacles from outside the police consist of the condition of the crime scene, time factors, weather factors, and community factors. Then the obstacles from within the police are in the form of personnel factors and minimal facilities and infrastructure. Efforts made to overcome these obstacles are by providing education to the community about the importance of the crime scene.
