Abstract
The objectives of the study were: 1). To determine the causal factors of serious assault crimes committed by students. 2). To determine efforts to prevent serious assault crimes committed by students. This study was conducted in Konawe Regency, precisely at the Konawe Police, using the type of research, namely empirical normative. The data collection methods used were document studies, field surveys and interviews using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen: 1). The causal factors of assault crimes began with a fight between villages involving several teenagers from the two villages so that one of the residents wanted to break it up, but because he was influenced by revenge, jealousy, emotional impulses, deviant behavior and character, and low levels of education and lack of legal awareness in the community, assault occurred in the serious category. 2). Efforts to prevent the occurrence of serious criminal acts of abuse committed by students are to provide information and guidance in the form of legal counseling, namely religious mental education for the community about the importance of complying with all provisions of laws and regulations and legal sanctions in the event of violations and to broaden understanding of religious teachings in order to strengthen belief, faith and devotion to God Almighty.
