Abstract
Literacy in science is essential in equipping students with the skills necessary for understanding and solving problems in everyday life. This paper aims to explore the development of science literacy in elementary school students through the teaching of science subjects (IPA). Using a literature review approach, this study investigates various methods, strategies, and approaches that have been used to enhance students' science literacy in elementary school settings. The findings suggest that integrating hands-on activities, inquiry-based learning, and the use of technology in science education can significantly contribute to the improvement of students' scientific understanding. This paper discusses key practices in teaching science, challenges faced, and the role of teachers in fostering scientific literacy. The study highlights the importance of an engaging and interactive approach to teaching science in elementary schools to encourage curiosity and critical thinking among students.
