Abstract

The objectives of the study were: 1). To determine the factors that cause fraud in Muna Regency 2). To determine the efforts made by the authorities to overcome fraud in Muna Regency, namely preventive efforts and repressive efforts. This study was conducted in the jurisdiction of the Muna Police using a normative empirical research type. The data collection method used was document study, field surveys and interviews using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen: 1. The factors that cause fraud in Muna Regency are. a. Internal factors, namely internal factors are factors that come from within humans themselves, namely factors of faith and morals that have begun to decline are one of the factors that cause various crimes. b. Economic factors. Economic demands such as lifestyle (people with high desires) so that the perpetrators are in debt with a large amount so that to cover their debts they can deceive others. Lifestyle in this case is like a person from the upper middle class who has the desire and desire to follow the existing trend, to the point of being willing to commit fraud to fulfill his lifestyle desires 2. Efforts made by the authorities to overcome fraud in Muna Regency are preventive efforts and repressive efforts. - Preventive efforts are to hold legal counseling in collaboration with related agencies such as the Police, Prosecutor's Office, Courts, Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, as well as figures in the Ulema Council, and open up employment opportunities, especially in Muna Regency. - Repressive efforts are to impose severe sanctions on the accused so that they do not repeat the crime after leaving the Correctional Institution/Detention Center.
