Abstract

The objectives of the study were: 1). To determine the factors causing the occurrence of criminal acts of abuse in the jurisdiction of the Muna Police. 2). To determine efforts to prevent the occurrence of criminal acts of abuse in the jurisdiction of the Muna Police. This study was conducted in the jurisdiction of the Muna Police using the type of research, namely empirical normative. The data collection methods used were document studies, field surveys and interviews using qualitative descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be seen: 1. Factors that cause abuse in the jurisdiction of the Muna Police consist of: a. Internal factors, closely related to a person's personal problems, especially regarding the issue of defending rights, prestige, dignity and honor. b. External factors, caused by environmental influences, incitement or pressure from other parties and the influence of alcohol. 2. Efforts to prevent the occurrence of Criminal Acts of Abuse in the jurisdiction of the Muna Police are: a. Preventing preventively, namely by providing education and guidance as early as possible since childhood, both by their families, teachers at school and the surrounding community. b. Preventing Repressively, namely providing education and skills to the community, especially teenagers, so that they do not think about committing acts that violate the law. c. Curative Action, namely providing guidance by involving families, community leaders and adat leaders and taking firm action against the perpetrators of the crime. d. Processed legally in the form of transferring case files to the District Attorney's Office, or resolved amicably in a peaceful manner.
