Abstract
Research Objectives (1) Objective Objectives (a) To find out the criminal acts committed by thugs (b) To find out the efforts to overcome thugs carried out by the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police. (2) Subjective Objectives (a) To obtain data and information as the main material in compiling legal writing to fulfill the requirements required to obtain a bachelor's degree in law at the Faculty of Law, University of Southeast Sulawesi. (b) To increase, expand, develop the author's knowledge and experience as well as understanding of legal aspects in the theory and practice of the legal field, especially in the field of criminal law which is very meaningful to the author. Research according to its field, the type of research used in this research is the type of empirical legal research, namely research that seeks to identify the law that exists in society with the intention of finding out other symptoms. In this study, the researcher will describe objectively the criminal acts committed by thugs in the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Jurisdiction. Research results (1) Criminal Acts committed by thuggery Criminal Acts committed by thuggery that occurred in the "Street Crime Operation" by the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police include: Article 170 of the Criminal Code concerning committing acts of violence against people or property in public; (2) Article 303 of the Criminal Code concerning gambling in public; (3) Article 336 of the Criminal Code concerning threats with violence; Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning assault; (4) Article 362 of the Criminal Code concerning theft; etc. Efforts to combat thuggery by the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police in efforts to combat thuggery in Kendari City, the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police took preventive and repressive measures. Preventive measures were taken by providing legal counseling to the community. The legal counseling aims to increase public legal awareness so that the community knows that the law promises protection and advances welfare which they will then enjoy the benefits of this protection and welfare. So that the community can actively participate in the efforts.
