The causal factors of criminal acts of motor vehicle embezzlement in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police according to the Criminal Investigation Unit can be classified into two, namely internal factors from the perpetrator and external factors from the perpetrator. Internal factors (intem) namely the desire to own embezzled goods and the utilization of opportunities for embezzlement crimes include: easy access to motor vehicles. External factors (extreme) namely economic factors and environmental factors including; weak supervision and control systems of motor vehicle owners (2). Efforts made by the Sat Reskrimum Polda Sultra R to handle criminal acts of embezzlement of motor vehicles by owners are to check the crime scene and search for perpetrator data, search for perpetrators and vehicles that are objects of embezzlement. These efforts sometimes experience obstacles such as the use of fake ID cards by perpetrators or replacement of license plates of embezzled vehicles, but this does not prevent investigators from uncovering the crimes that have occurred and efforts have been considered optimal and effective enough to handle the criminal acts of embezzlement in question.
