Abstract

This study aims to: 1) To find out and understand the effectiveness of handling crimes and violations as a form of social control by the police 2) To find out and understand the factors that inhibit the handling of crimes and violations by the police. This study is an empirical study, using laws and regulations related to the material in writing the thesis. The data collection technique in the study was carried out by interviews and observations related to the title of the thesis being raised. Furthermore, the data was processed and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method by describing the reality that occurred. The results of this study conclude that handling crimes and violations by the police is one form of social control that is important in maintaining public order and security. The effectiveness of these efforts is highly dependent on various factors, including police strategy, available resources, community support, and other factors. Several factors that can be obstacles in handling crimes and violations by the police are Lack of Training.
